Abstract. Tambakbulusan Village has great tourism potential, including mangrove land, fish and shrimp aquaculture ponds, and Gelagah Wangi beach (which is better known as Tambakbulusan Palace Beach, Istanbul). All this potential has not yet been followed by economic growth in the tourism sector. Tourists who present in large numbers on the coast of Istanbul so far only occur during the religious holiday season. This condition makes residents want the role of researchers to be able to help the realization of a tourist village in Tambakbulusan. This research was conducted to search for information and baselines that support interventions to village governments and community organizations to increase the attractiveness and flow of visitors to tourist sites. This research was carried out in Tambakbulusan Village, Karangtengah District, Demak Regency. This research was conducted using the interview method, observative approach, focused discussion, and documentation studies involving the active role of citizens who become leaders or figures in community social institutions, administrators of Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), village government officials, and related offices in Demak Regency (Bappeda, Office of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DKP), Office of Tourism (Dinpar), Office of Village Community Empowerment (Dispermades), Office of Environment (DLH), and Office of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives (Disperindagkop)). The analysis carried out focused on two efforts, namely (1) how to raise awareness of the community’s potential and (2) how to move the BUMDes institution can function as a motor to achieve the goal of becoming a tourist village. The analysis resulted in problem-solving in the form of education, training, and comparative studies in the field of BUMDes management. With this method, the problem of managing the village tourism area can be resolved, and residents can begin to benefit from the increasing number of tourist visits in Tambakbulusan.
