Abstract. Background: Vector-borne diseases are still a problem in Indonesia, especially Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Entomology survey is one way to overcome cases of DHF by describing the existence of Aedes sp. vector in a region comprehensively. But the larvae free rate in Indonesia in 2018 only reached 31.2% of the target of 95%. The high disparity of the target because the survey method to estimate vector density is still less sensitive, inefficient and effective to be applied in some areas. In addition, there were also resource problems such as the limited number of health entomologists, lack of motivation and accuracy of cadres and the community in eradicating mosquito nests. Purpose: to provide alternative measures to control the risk of dengue transmission by creating tools that can control the density of Aedes sp. larvae in the community. This tool is called Gama Trap, which functions to drain larvae without having to dispose of water, sensitive to detect the presence of larvae and easy to use by cadres of larvae (Jumantik) and public health center staff when conducting vector surveillance. Method : The trial of the tool was carried out in Kebondalem Kidul Village, Klaten Regency as many as 80 houses, because: 1) Having climatic conditions that have the potential to breed vector Aedes sp; 2) The condition of the house has the potential for mosquitoes to enter the house; 3) The characteristics of containers such as bathtubs, jars and water drums are still used to collect water as daily necessities; 4) Geographical conditions of this region are in trouble with clean water, and 5) The density level of Aedes sp larvae based on Container Index (CI), House Index (HI), and Bretau Index (BI) values are in the high category. Results: This tool can reduce the density of Aedes sp larvae based on HI, CI and BI values in the low category. The decrease in the presence of larvae before and after the intervention of the Gama Trap tool reached 83.7%. Conclusion: This tool can be one of the efforts in providing protection against the presence of larvae in containers that are used as daily necessities.
