Abstract. KUB “Campur Mandiri” is an association of home-based tofu industries whose address is in Tidar Campur, Tidar Selatan village, South Magelang sub district, Magelang City, Central Java Province. At present, the KUB has 34 members of hereditary tofu industries, which has a production capacity of 50 – 200 kg of dried soybeans per day. Generally, these home industries have a number of obstacles, such as limited production equipment, expensive raw materials and fuel prices, too much liquid waste, and the low competitiveness of tofu products. The survey shows that the cooking process is currently contributing greatly to the problem. For this reason, this activity aims to design and introduce low pressure steam boiler technology as a method to improve the tofu processing in the region. The activity began with field observations, designing of the boilers, determining the selected partner, installation and socialization to the community. The observation showed that more than 60% of the tofu industries have a production capacity of 100 – 200 kg of dried soybeans per day, while others have capacity of 50 – 100 kg of dried soybeans per day. The capacity of tofu production was then used as the main consideration for designing the introduced boiler. Based on this capacity, the boiler is designed to support the tofu processing with a capacity of 100-200 kg per day. Steam boiler is designed with a diameter of 77 cm, height of 120 cm, equipped with 9 fire pipes. Boiler is designed from stainless steel with the main fuel of biomass waste.
