Abstract. Waste becomes a big issue for cities in Indonesia if it is not managed properly. A lack of awareness culture from the community is the main problem, especially if the garbage is thrown into the river which will cause and cause various negative impacts. Communities in Sukunan Village, Banyuraden Village, Gamping District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, have managed waste properly for a handicraft product that produces economic value. Based on good waste management, Banyuraden Village is now known as an environmental tourism village. The people of Sukunan Village have been able to distinguish between the uses of waste and have used it for dirty waste for biogas, appropriate technology, reconstruction of home construction, even to the making of handicrafts. The handicrafts which are derived from this waste have provided economic value to the community, even the handicraft products from this waste have been marketed on a local, national, to an international scale. During this time in the waste management is still carried out by the ladies and gentlemen, here the need to move the involvement of the younger generation as future heirs to be more concerned about the environment.
