Abtstract. Community service grant based on the development of the target village in 2019 emphasis specialized on the tempe gembus home industry in Tuksono, Sentolo, Kulonprogo. Several problems founded in these industries were pressing the tofu pulp to remove their water which conducted conventionally, unhygienic, and prone to contamination from the surrounding environment, all tempe gembus home industry have no pIRT certificate, the production environment was ineligible, and land based and mixed with household goods and other contamination sources. The purpose of this activity is to collect and identify of tempe gembus home industry in Tuksono village, to design and create tofu pulp pressing equipment that meets food grade, conducting pIRT training and mentoring of tempe gembus home industry to get the pIRT certificates. There were 11 tempe gembus home industries in Tuksono which running the continuous production. Based on the score analysis, all of home industry belong to the IR2 level. In the terms of age, most of tempe gembus business actors were 50-64 years old (57%). Most of the tempe gembus business actors were elementary educated (43%) and only 7% of them were high school graduates and no one is in higher education. tempe gembus products sold directly to the market (79%) and only a small portion (21%) which are deposited to other traders. All tempe gembus home industry do not have business license nor pIRT certificate. To remove water from the tofu pulp, a more modern and hygienic pulp press tool has been made and it handed over to the Tempe gembus crafters. PIRT training and home industry visit has been done by the health office of Kulonprogo Regency. The survey showed that almost all of Tempe gembus home industries need to be addressed to acquire pIRT certificates.
