Abstract. Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Maggots conversion is known as a promising way of food waste treatment. The maggots can digest food waste in a short period of time converting food waste into body mass and solid remaining as compost. Thus, there are two products that can be harvested from this waste treatment system which are maggots and compost. The maggot can be directly use for animal feeds. In this project, the BSF maggot has been implemented in Kronggahan village nearby UGM Hospital to treat hospital and domestic food waste. The maggot is used for feeding fish farm owned by village people. One maggot farm has been installed and manage by a group of fresh water fish farmer. It is proven that the maggot feed can reduce the cost of fish pellet feed up to 50% without reducing the fish product quality. The maggot digestion system can kill bacteria that might be contained from hospital patient food waste so it is safe to be used as animal feed.
