Abstract. Marine tourism is one of the efforts in improving village economy through the development of tourism potential in the coastal and marine areas. The implementation of this program is to encourage innovation in the development of edu-tourism villages on the three pillars of Education for Sustainable Development which covers the environment, economy and social culture. The village is also close to Porok Beach so that it has the potential as a marine tourism destination. Targets for this program include human resources who care about the preservation of the environment especially Porok Beach, the existence of a tourism-aware group (POKDARWIS) in managing the marine tourism area of Porok Beach, video concept of marine education tourism in Porok Beach, Gunungkidul and scientific publications in the form of national seminars and national level community empowerment journals. Maritime potentials that can be developed in Porok Beach, Kec. Tanjungsari, Gunungkidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta are geographical potential, flora potential, and fauna potential. Community empowerment activities carried out included training and introduction of the potential of the Porok Beach fauna, training and introduction of the potential of the Porok Beach flora, fostering the tourism guidance for POKDARWIS Kemadang as well as the installation of the nameplate of collaboration between POKDARWIS Kemadang and the Faculty of Biology UGM. Long-term prospects and expectations for Kemadang Village and Porok Beach are becoming tourist destinations while maintaining the preservation of flora and fauna.It is also a center for innovation and downstreaming of research products of Universias Gadjah Mada researchers.
